City Quest is a self-guided outdoor city game.
You explore a city by following a story, solving puzzles and discovering highlights and hidden places along the way.
Do I need to download an app?
No.
City Quest is played directly in your browser on your phone. No app download is required.
How long does a City Quest take?
A City Quest takes approximately 120 minutes.
You can pause whenever you like and play entirely at your own pace.
How many people can play?
City Quest is designed for groups and can be played by any number of people.
If you wish, you can split into multiple teams and play at the same time. Each team can use its own phone and start the City Quest using the same start-link found in your order confirmation email.
This makes it easy to turn the City Quest into a friendly competition, but this is completely optional.
Is City Quest suitable for children?
Yes.
City Quest is suitable for all ages when played together
When can we start playing?
You can start whenever you want after purchasing the City Quest. There are no fixed start times. Your City Quest starts with the order confirmation, please check your email after your purchase.
We recommend playing during daylight hours and when shops and cafés are open, so you can fully enjoy the city.
What do we need to bring?
You will need a smartphone with an internet connection, a charged battery, comfortable shoes, and something to take notes with, either on your phone or with pen and paper.
Do we need an internet connection?
Yes, a mobile internet connection is required to play City Quest.
The experience is browser-based.
Is City Quest physically demanding?
No.
The route is designed as a relaxed city walk with regular stops.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Are food or drink stops included?
Food and drink stops are optional suggestions only. You are never required to enter a café or restaurant to continue the game.
City Quest is not affiliated with third-party venues unless explicitly stated.
What does City Quest cost?
The price is €29 per group.
One ticket is valid for one group and one City Quest.
How can we pay?
You can pay by credit card or PayPal. Payments are processed securely via PayPal, and no PayPal account is required.
Can we pause or stop during the game?
Yes.
You can pause at any time and continue later.
Is City Quest an escape room?
No.
City Quest is not an escape room and there is no time pressure.
It is a relaxed, story-driven city experience focused on discovery rather than competition.
If you choose to turn it into a friendly competition, you can split into teams. Each team keeps track of its own time, and using hints adds a time penalty.
What if something changes in the city?
Cities are living places.
Occasionally, routes or locations may change due to events, maintenance or closures.
City Quest may update content when needed to ensure the best experience.

Is City Quest a competition?
No, City Quest is designed as a collaborative, story-driven experience. There is no score and no time limit.
If you enjoy a bit of competition within your group, you can choose to turn the City Quest into a friendly challenge. How to do this is explained as an optional element at the start of the game.
Taking part in this challenge is completely optional, and the CityQuest can be enjoyed just as much without it.
